1. Why did I receive this Recall Notice? ~~~ A comment: I received a recall letter, quite unexpectedly to say the least. I was online searching for a bed for a spoiled dog. That's my Cavachon, a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. MeLord, is a sweet-natured designer dog who is friendly and playful. He is also spoiled rotten by me and my partner. Not in a bad way, so I think. Anyway, we had just had our NYC condo renovated and redecorated. The designer I hired suggested I buy two custom made dog beds. One that would coordinate with our living room decor and another for our bedroom. I was seriously considering doing just that until a neighbor suggested I look at the site GoodnightDog which sells round pillow dog beds covered in decorator fabrics. These were exactly what I was looking for. I found the perfect blue toille fabric that works in our bed room and a lovely chinoiserie fabric design for the living room. I ordered four pillows in all! "MeLord," I said when I finished placing the order, "you are going to have the most wonderful dog beds!" He looked up at me with an expectation of a treat. I didn't disappoint. And then I turned to my email to make sure the order went through. In the list of unopened emails I saw the Recall Notice for the HP L2035 flat panel monitor. I clicked the link to this site. The FAQ's on this page to be very helpful. Fortunately, I had no difficulty in requesting a replacement. ~~~ 2. How did you identify me as a possible owner of the recalled L2035 monitor? |

5. Have there been any reported injuries from the L2035 flat panel displays? How did they know that there was a problem with the L2035 flat panel displays? No injuries have been reported. Hewlett-Packard received one report of a L2035 flat panel display that had the improper grounding issue. It was discovered by a technician during installation. 6. What should I do? Check the serial number of the monitor using one of the two methods described in FAQ 7. You may either visit the www.L2035recall.com website or call the HP L2035 Recall Helpdesk for more information. 7. How do I determine if an L2035 monitor is affected by this recall? Until you determine that your monitor is unaffected, do not touch exposed metal surfaces (i.e. stand mounting bracket or the base). There is a possibility for electrical shock hazard. First Method: On Screen Display (OSD)

If your monitor’s serial number falls within the affected serial number range, check for a green dot sticker on the back of the monitor, near the HI-POT label (Figure 3) located next to the serial number. Be sure to UNPLUG THE POWER CORD FROM THE WALL, before checking the rear of the monitor. A green dot indicates that the monitor is not affected.
|
If you determine that your monitor may be affected, leave it unplugged, and contact your local HP L2035 Recall Helpdesk or visit the Philips Recall website at www.L2035recall.com for further actions. A technician may be dispatched to your location for onsite testing or a replacement L2035 monitor may be provided. We strongly recommend you keep the monitor unplugged. However, if you choose to continue to use the monitor, please review the hazard described in FAQ 4 above. If your monitor serial number is NOT in the affected serial number range, or if a green dot is present on the back of the monitor, no action is required. |
8. Can I screen the monitor myself? 9. How long does the screening take? 10. Can I use the monitor until I receive the replacement or have it screened? 11. How do I request a replacement or screening? 12. How long will it take to receive the replacement monitor? 13. What if I no longer have the display? 14. Do I have to return the old L2035 flat panel display? 15. How can I return the affected monitors? 16. Can I get a refund instead of a replacement or screening? |
